Narrative Project - PROTECT

The bark of a tree protects its core from the elements, much like a hard exoskeleton protects a snail. Sunflower seeds are a source of B vitamins that protect us against infection and amazonite crystals are said to enhance love by controlling negative emotions through spiritual energies.  Whilst there is an overall narrative of defence and protection from each of the objects, the whimsical, wonder of the organic articles juxtapose the eerie, endangerment that is forewarned in the pictures.  A daily, disposable thermal protection sleeve depicts the sophistication of our society. It represents the niceties that we consume and the attractions of the ideal. Whilst the pictures carry the trepidation of their capabilities and stand for the correspondent dangers that run parallel to the utopian endeavour.  There is no sorcery nor mighty protector of the realm who can right our wrongs. We must look to the earth for natural healing properties, to protect all life and finite ...

This blog will feature insights into my design process, my interests and inspirations and my ambitions to help people appreciate nature for its perfection, beauty and diversity through landscape design.  Human beings have an innate instinct to be close to nature, though it seems that a lot of our natural desires have been hijacked by our material minds and the technological evolution. We often chose to look at the world through a screen rather than paying attention to the earthly wonders that surrounds us.  The UK has an abundance of plant species, whether native or naturalised, that will effortlessly enchant those that take a moment to appreciate them:  DON'T SPEAK THEIR NAMES IN VAIN!!! Viburnum rhytidophyllum  Leatherleaf viburnum  Look at that detail!! The deeply-veined evergreen leaves of Viburnum are striking. Some may find this plant unexciting but if you appreciate it for its intricate venation, it is undoubtedly beautiful.  Also... accurately named...
