Carbon Footprint

OH NO indeed, this is very sad and disappointing. I wanted to ensure that I didn't cut any corners when completing the WWF footprint questionnaire so overshot a little to work with the 'worst case'.

However I am surprised and even more concerned than before - I am someone that is conscious of my impact; I rarely drive, I don't eat meat, I food shop sparsely and I've beaten my retail therapy addiction. I no longer buy things I don't need, and if I do it's second hand or from a responsible retailer. I try to limit waste the best I can within my living environment and I heat the person not the house. Yet I am still FARRR above the UK average?!?!?!

The reason this worries me so much is not because of my own personal footprint, I want to make a change and I will. But what about those that don't? I asked my sister (an avid consumer) to complete the survey honestly and her consumption came out at 10.5T 😒

Not really sure what happened there?! This is the second time I completed the survey, the first coming out at 9.2T. There are a few additions in this, most relating to my living circumstances. I have listed below what I think may be to blame for my high carbon footprint this year:

Things to blame:

- Electronics; this year I purchased my first personal laptop (and an iPad 🙉).

- New washing machine provided by rental agency.

- Not knowing the energy source for rented accomodation flat, is it 100% renewable?

- Travel :( 2 trips to Europe and 2 trips to Asia certainly had their hit this year. This one makes me the saddest, to travel is to live!!!
