Castle Meads - Design Overlay

After numerous iterations, tackling designer's block, and refining various overlays, the time has come to finalise the essential components for Castle Meads.

I have endeavoured to transform the site with a focus on enhancing accessibility, amenities, and biodiversity. During the season of heavy rainfall and flooding, the western part of Castle Meads will experience complete inundation. Consequently, the eco-centre will extend across the water, supported by stilts. In the warmer summer months, while the largest pool will persist, the smaller ones will transform into floodplain meadows, featuring a variety of natural play amenities.

Although further modifications will be necessary when transferring the design digitally, the current layout reflects the general placement of each element.
